BARRY – My career in Nature and Conservation kicked off with freelancing in game viewing vehicles in the Kruger National Park and greater Kruger areas with traversing rights into the Kruger.

I was Head Ranger and have managed a few lodges in the greater Kruger area and did bush walks , morning walks and night drives.

Exposure to the tourism industry led me to a new venture and I changed my career to Professional Overlanding, VIP tours and 4×4 safaris into Eastern  and Southern Africa.

When on Overland tours you are Driver, Guide, Chef, host and entertainer.  Our tours were a combination of accommodated as well as camping tours. We provided luxury and budget tour experience.

Africa sunsets, wildlife, conservation and the tourism industry became part of my life and I started to live my African dream through my career as an Ambassador for Africa.

I am a Qualified Professional Field Guide with FGASA  – Field Guide Association of South Africa Certified with THETE (CATHSSETA)- Culture, Art, Tourism, Hospitality, Sport Sector and Training Authority of South Africa, as well as DEAT  – Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism -Accreditation obtained with Ingwe Tourism Services I have also specialised in BIG 5 Walking Safaris.

Countries toured includes:

Botswana, Malawi, Mozambique, Nairobi, Namibia, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Zambia

In South Africa all provinces and cross borders was toured with ventures from Limpopo, Mpumalanga, KZN, Swaziland, Eastern Cape, Wine Route, Western Cape, Karoo, Free state and Lesotho was toured and travelled extensively.

In 2013 I met my soulmate, Erika and she loved the bush just as much as I did.

Erika – lover of nature and keen birdwatcher. Nature calmed her the way it calmed and relaxed me. She’s been a frequent visitor to the Kruger since she was born and we just connected in every field of interest.

With a National Diploma in Food Service Management, she worked in the hospitality industry for 11 years and her experience ranges from Chef, Management of several Guest houses, Restaurants, Training and setting up Food Franchises.

We both have a passion for nature and our most rewarding interest being birding.

With more than 900 species found in south and southern Africa, our tours also include our feathered friends and some valuable information.

And that is how Twinspot Tours was ‘born’… Two souls together who wants to share the Africa-scenery with you!
